What are considered eligible uses for the Store Front Beautification Grant?

Eligible uses for grant money include:

  • Signage
  • Lighting
  • Landscaping
  • Trees
  • Non-advertising decorative banners
  • Awnings
  • Murals
  • Physical improvements

This is a 50/50 matching grant that will fund up to 50% of an individual beautification project up to $2,500.

Who is eligible to apply for the Store Front Beautification Grant Program?

A.

We welcome grant applications from businesses with store fronts in Phillips County or destination/tourist locations in Phillips County.  To be eligible for one of these grants, the improvements must be made by the property owner or the business owner with the property owner's approval in writing.

What programs are available for small businesses?

A.

Our local Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC) is located in Havre, Montana at Bear Paw Development Corporation.

Areas of Assistance:

• Technical assistance in writing business plans for new and existing businesses, financial analysis, planning and state and private capital sources.
• Assistance with marketing research, analysis and strategy as well as advertising, packaging and promotion.
• Training in all areas of business management and referral to business professionals as needed.
• One-on-one counseling for existing and start-up business management.
• Pre-Counseling
